Emerson and Thoreau, for whom this post is beholden, recommend connecting with God through nature and becoming aware in that connection to the abundance of your own consciousness.

For me, painting is my connection both to what is Spiritual and what is grand in my own mind. It has also provided enormous succor and comfort in troubled times.
